Common questions

Is dkod free?

The engine is MIT-licensed and always free. The hosted platform at dkod.io is $9.99/month per user with a 14-day free trial. You can also self-host the entire platform for free on your own infrastructure.

What happens after the trial?

After 14 days, your account requires a $9.99/month subscription to continue using dkod.io. Your code and data are always accessible — you can export everything or switch to self-hosting at any time.

Can I self-host everything?

Yes. The engine is MIT-licensed and the platform source is available (BSL licensing planned). You can run the entire stack on your own Kubernetes cluster with PostgreSQL, Redis, and S3-compatible storage.

What does BSL mean for the platform?

The planned Business Source License will let you view, modify, and self-host the platform code for your own use. You just can't offer it as a competing hosted service. Under the planned terms, after 4 years each version converts to Apache 2.0.
